Classification by cementitious materials
- Inorganic cementitious material concrete, such as cement concrete, gypsum concrete, silicate concrete, water glass concrete, etc;
- Organic cementitious material concrete, such as asphalt concrete, polymer concrete, etc.
Classification by apparent density
Concrete can be classified according to the size of the apparent density: heavy concrete, ordinary concrete, light concrete. The difference between these three types of concrete is the difference in aggregates.
Heavy concrete is the apparent density greater than 2500Kg/, made of particularly dense and particularly heavy aggregates. Such as barite concrete, steel chip concrete, etc., they have the performance of impervious to x-rays and γ-rays.
Ordinary concrete is the concrete we commonly use in construction, the apparent density of 1950 to 2500Kg /, the aggregate is sand, stone.
Lightweight concrete is concrete with an apparent density of less than 1950Kg/. It consists of can be divided into three categories:
- Light aggregate concrete, the apparent density of 800 to 1950Kg /, light aggregates including pumice, volcanic slag, ceramic particles, expanded perlite, expanded slag, slag, etc.
- Porous concrete (foam concrete, aerated concrete), whose apparent density is 300 to 1000Kg/. Foam concrete is made of cement slurry or cement mortar with stabilized foam. Aerated concrete is made of cement, water and aerating agent.
- Large-porous concrete (ordinary large-porous concrete, light-aggregate large-porous concrete), which has no fine aggregate in its composition. The apparent density of ordinary macroporous concrete ranges from 1500 to 1900Kg/, which is prepared with crushed stone, soft stone and heavy slag as aggregates. The apparent density of light aggregate macropore concrete ranges from 500 to 1500Kg/, which is formulated with ceramic granules, pumice, crushed brick, slag, etc. as aggregates.
Classification by use function
Structural concrete, thermal insulation concrete, decorative concrete, waterproof concrete, refractory concrete, hydraulic concrete, marine concrete, road concrete, radiation-proof concrete, etc.
Classified by construction process
Centrifugal concrete, vacuum concrete, grouted concrete, shotcrete, crushed concrete, extruded concrete, pumped concrete, etc. According to the reinforcement method: plain (i.e. unreinforced) concrete, reinforced concrete, wire mesh concrete, fiber concrete, prestressed concrete, etc.
Classified by the compatibility of the mix
Dry concrete, semi-dry concrete, plastic concrete, fluid concrete, high-fluidity concrete, flow concrete, etc.
